This AP Pre-Calculus APSI will take a deep dive into all the required course content by exploring all the topics listed in the Course and Exam Description. The workshop will address how common themes such as average rate of change, behavior of functions, modeling, regression, and graphical transformations are weaved throughout the units spanning polynomials, rational, trigonometric, exponential, and logarithmic functions. Participants will learn how to navigate AP Classroom and how AP Classroom can be used to support daily lessons and forms of assessment. Activities and instructional strategies will be discussed and shared to support students on challenging topics. Participants will learn the components of the exam and how the components will be scored. Participants will learn the types of free response questions on the exam coupled with the required skills to answer those questions. Since this is a new AP course for everyone, consideration will be given to how to introduce and/or develop the content; how to use instructional strategies along with features of AP Classroom to help students master the content; and how to plan the course leaving time for review.
