Invest in your students’ academic success by developing your Advanced Placement (AP) and pre-AP teaching staff. Send your AP teachers - or a team of pre-AP and AP teachers and your AP coordinator - to the 2015 Advanced Placement Summer Institute (APSI) at Rutgers University. Rutgers APSI workshops, taught by College Board consultants with extensive Advanced Placement teaching experience, are held June 29 through August 13, 2015 at the Rutgers New Brunswick Campus.
Registration will begin on Monday, February, 16.
Designed for both beginning and experienced instructors, these 30-hour intensive workshops will help your educators to:
Helping Teachers Prepare Students for College Success
- Brush up on current trends and issues in their disciplines
- Develop engaging strategies for effective teaching
- Address changes to AP exams to facilitate student success
- Align curricula and build collegial vertical teams within their disciplines.
Rutgers was founded as one of nine colonial colleges nearly 250 years ago. In 1956, Rutgers became The State University of New Jersey, and remains the sole comprehensive public research university in the state. Now ranked among the world’s top 35 universities, Rutgers’ New Brunswick campus is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU), home to internationally acclaimed faculty, the Big Ten Conference’s most diverse student body, and a top producer of Fulbright Scholars. The Rutgers AP Summer Institute is endorsed by the College Board, and can offer workshop participants graduate credit or Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for successful program completion.
At Rutgers, AP instructors may choose to register for 3 Continuing Education Units (CEU’s), or academic credit. Credit participants will pay graduate tuition and fees, complete a final written assignment, and earn 3 credits and a letter grade.
