In this Summer Institute, participants will have access to several ready-to-use strategies that have proven successful in the AP Italian Language and Culture classroom over the years. The workshop will provide authentic materials and original activities that will help students’ motivation and improve the necessary skills to pass the exam with a high score. It also will demonstrate the fundamental principles of Diversity and Inclusion and Equity and Access to the AP Italian Language and Culture Classroom.
The workshop will explore the course, as well as the exam description and its resources. Participants will begin to develop individual course plans by unit and topic by identifying content and skill pairings with lesson plans to reinforce content and skill connections. Teachers also will examine formative and summative assessment items. In addition, the workshop will include practice applying the scoring guidelines from the most recent AP exam to samples of student work and identify student strengths and weaknesses using data available through the AP Classroom.
This Summer Institute will also give participants the chance to develop meaningful connections within the AP Italian Language and Culture community.
