Boris Korsunsky holds graduate degrees in Physical Chemistry and Physics from Russia and a doctorate from Harvard Graduate School of Education. His dissertation focused on the cognition of solving challenging problems by AP Physics C students.
Boris has been a full-time teacher since 1986 but he is also committed to extending his contributions well beyond his own classroom. In 1996 and 1997, Boris served as a coach for the US Physics Team that earned several gold medals in the International Physics Olympiads. He has also authored several books (serious and not-so-serious) and numerous articles on physics education. Since 2001, Boris has been editing the column of Physics Challenges for The Physics Teacher magazine.
The AP Physics program has been Boris’s passion for more than twenty-five years. Besides being an AP Physics teacher since 1994, Boris has been an AP Reader, AP Consultant, and an AP Exam item contributor and reviewer for the AP Exams. He has presented numerous workshops and APSIs in the US, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and other countries. Since 2013, Boris has been collaborating with edX, a Harvard-MIT-founded non-profit, creating online courses for AP Physics students.
In 2020, Boris developed and led two fully online APSI’s. He is looking forward to sharing his expertise with his colleagues and to learning from their own expertise.
