AP Career Kickstart gives high school students a head start on career pathways that are growing fast. These new AP courses help learners develop real professional skills, earn college credit, and gain industry recognized credentials that employers value.

About AP Career Kickstart

This new expansion of the AP Program is being shaped with input from employers, college faculty, and high school educators. The goal is simple. Give students access to courses that connect classroom learning with future jobs and opportunities.

Industry Supported Credentials

Students enrolled in these courses will have the chance to earn credentials that demonstrate their technical and professional strengths. These credentials help students show they are prepared for college programs and in demand careers.

Join us August 4 to 7, 2026 at Rutgers New Brunswick, Campus

This course will offer students the opportunity to earn college credit and a credential, and aligns with the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education Workforce Framework.

This APSI is more time-intensive than a standard AP CSA APSI to ensure deep support in learning Java. This summer, AP is piloting this offering and managing all registration. Teachers in their first three years of teaching AP CSA were invited to apply for a seat in one of the 2026 Java Content AP Summer Institutes. The selection process is now complete and registration is closed.
